AFRICAN DOCUMENTARY

Working for over two decades commissioned as a documentary photographer with various local and international aid agencies has revealed in intimate detail the heart of who we are as a people across Africa. Engaging with communities living on the threshold of human existence reveals the very essence of our ‘human condition’. How do we not only survive in the 21 century but importantly how do we create opportunities to thrive and empower ourselves by harnessing modern technology, realizing food and water security, gain access to primary health care and perhaps the most important aspect, how do we embolden communities to break the cycle of corruption, poverty and apathy. The heart of my visual documentation is the power of visual story-telling, creating a strong narrative so as to bridge the divides.
